Production, warehousing and process plant. Marking has to survive abrasion and cleaning, stay readable on machinery, pipework and floors, and hold up across the temperature range the process actually runs at.
Ships, offshore installations and yards. Salt air, moisture and low temperatures act on substrate and adhesive alike, escape routes have to stay identifiable when lighting fails, and the documentation is checked against maritime requirements rather than general ones.
Offices, retail, public buildings, transport and outdoor areas. Mechanical load is usually lower here, so legibility, consistency across a site and accessibility carry the specification — and the marking is read at close range by people who do not work there.
